An incomplete
copper-alloy annular brooch of Medieval date, c. AD
1200 - 1400. It has an annular frame that is D-shaped in section with flat
reverse and rounded front face. The brooch has an incomplete pin. There is a
single transverse grooved pin rest opposite the pin constriction. Evenly spaced
around the frame are four oval collets, two of which retain a white paste, but
all are missing their stones if set with those. Between each of the collets the
frame sinks slightly.

This type of brooch dates to the Medieval period and there are a number of
parallel examples from Meols (Griffiths et al., 2007: no. 1722) and London (LMMC
pl. LXXVIII.1) of c.13th-14th century AD date.
